Keel laying of A-ROSA VIVA

Traditional luck penny laid under the first block

Rostock-Warnemünde, 23rd April 2009 – Today the keel-laying ceremony for the eighth river cruiseship of A-ROSA Flussschiff GmbH took place in Rostock. Bettina Pichler, longtime distribution partner (Lufthansa City Center) of A-ROSA placed the traditional luck penny under the first of five blocks of the vessel with the yard number S.515.

The newest ship of the A-ROSA fleet will be named “A-ROSA-VIVA” and cruises from 2010 on the Rhine, Main and Mosel. The A-ROSA VIVA will be 135 metres long and 11.4 metres wide. It has a draft of 1.6 metres and can host 202 passengers in its 99 cabins, each averaging 14.5 m². 70 of these cabins are also equipped with a French balcony. Together with a buffet restaurant, an attractive bar and lounge as well as with the spa and the large sun deck a pleasant stay on board is guaranteed. There are 32 cabins available specifically for crew members

The A-ROSA VIVA is the fourteenth river cruise ship constructed for the NEPTUN WERFT since 2002. Following the ceremony, representatives of the shipping company as well as their guests visited the sister ship A-ROSA AQUA, which will join the A-ROSA fleet in summer 2009.
