NEPTUN WERFT is celebrating its 175th anniversary this year and can look back on an eventful history as one of Germany's most traditional shipyards. Since its foundation in 1850, the shipyard on the Warnow River has built more than 1,600 ships and repaired and modernised numerous others. Today, NEPTUN WERFT is one of the market leaders in the construction of river cruise ships with more than 600 employees and is an important employer in the Rostock region. http://www.neptunwerft.de
In addition to modern river cruise ships, the shipyard manufactures floating engine room modules for cruise ships built by MEYER WERFT and other customers, and has proven expertise in specialised vessels such as ferries, gas tankers and research vessels. The shipyard is also making intensive preparations to enter the market for the construction of converter platforms.

As part of MEYER WERFT since 1997, NEPTUN WERFT has continued to develop and invest in innovative production facilities. With the introduction of the 35-hour week in 2024, the company is also setting new standards in the industry. The shipyard is currently working with partners on the construction of offshore facilities (converter platforms) and the development of climate-neutral technologies, for example through research projects on the use of fuel cells.

The anniversary celebrations will take place in Rostock in the summer of 2025. Guests from business, politics and society are invited to a ceremony at the shipyard on 28 June 2025. The workforce is also invited to a family day at the shipyard on 28 June 2025 to celebrate its long history.
