Explorer of the Seas

Explorer of the Seas

Explorer of the Seas is the second ship in the Voyager Class. It was constructed at our Finish shipyard, MEYER TURKU, and delivered in 2000. When it was completed, Explorer of the Seas stood alongside the other vessels in the Voyager Class as one of the largest cruise ships in the world.

The luxury liners in the Voyager Class were constructed between 1999 and 2003. The fleet includes Voyager of the Seas, Explorer of the Seas, Adventure of the Seas, Navigator of the Seas and Mariner of the Seas. All five cruise ships had lots of new features like the Royal Promenade, the world’s first ever shopping arcade that spread across 120 metres and 4 decks with bistros and bars. Further innovations included an ice-skating arena and a theatre with five decks and seating for around 1,350 spectators. The climbing wall was another new feature on board the luxury liners in the Voyager Class.

All five ocean liners in the Voyager Class were the largest cruise ships in the world until Queen Mary 2 was commissioned.
