Newbuilding of river cruise ships
For nearly one and a half centuries the building of new ships has been in the centre of Neptun´s activities. More than 1500 new ships have been built for owners worldwide within more than 150 years of the company's history. The range reaches from the first iron screw steamer built in Germany, the "Erbgroßherzog Friedrich Franz”, in 1851 through cargo ships, passenger steamers (e.g. “Kronprinz” in 1910) and ferries up to most up-to-date special vessels such as floating bucket dredges and lifting vessels. Due to restrictions imposed by the European Union we abandoned this field of activities in 1991, and since then we have been more intensely engaged in the fields of conversions of ships, ship repairs, general structural engineering, precision steel constructions as well as Ro-Ro equipment.
After 10 years, conditions have changed and new ships are being built again at Neptun with the river cruising vessels of the “A’Rosa”series for the A'Rosa/Seetours company. These ships combine the most up-to-date event gastronomy with a luxurious outfit meeting highest technical and safety standards. All cabins on board are outer cabins.
